Hi All

My GPU and spec are below and just wanted some thoughts. I am playing PUBG a lot at the moment and I know the game is buggy but the GPU is a bit jumpy after a little play time and gets really hot, at least 85c constant while playing. To get around it I have been putting a desk fan pointing in the case. I was wondering is a 1060 would be ok in my pc and is it worth the upgrade. Before we blame the game it happens with a lot of games, Fallout 4, ARK being 2 more.
Or should I be trying to re-paste the heatsink on the card???
Thanks in advance

I was going to say 1060 or even a 580.

Need to overclock that processor as well tho.
Hi

I am shying away from AMD, always had them but they always run so hot or at least mine have.

Am I able to overclock the processor, I thought it had to be a K version? Also it only has stock cooler so I assume I would want to upgrade it if i overclock it.

Thanks

For games, not really. Some games see gains from faster ram but it's generally pretty insignificant, the only game I've ever seen that radically improves with faster ram is Fallout 4. Everything else is usually just a percent or two.

The only AAA game I can think of that sometimes has a bad time on the i5 is Battlefield 1 online - so if you're someone who gets annoyed when the framerate drops below 60, a CPU upgrade is definitely viable, but most people aren't quite that demanding I suppose.

Your system is good overall. You could also look 2nd hand for a GTX970 or something, they still sell for reasonable prices (here about €150-170) and would be a very big upgrade. I know CEX sell 2nd hand cards but they offer 2 year warranty as well so that's a good place too.
