Depends if you only have the funds to make such a purchase but not actually be able to run it ;)

Why not get a 2004 3.0 Z4 for around 11k and then you'll be able to run that comfortably for a few years? :)

(11k is a guess but you know what I mean)
 
The thread title makes it seem like you're going to be doing some sort of mr2-to-ferrari-style bodykit conversion on your poor Bora.
 
Insurance is about group 19, so fairly high. You'll get between 25 and 35mpg depending on how you drive it.

Tyres are hilariously expensive if you keep the runflats - £220 each. Ditching them and running mid-range equivalents (like my Falkens) means a full set costs £345.

Not encountered servicing yet, but I'll be doing it at independents rather than official dealers - it's a 6-year-old car, after all.

Oh, and a warranty is a must. A fully comprehensive one from BMW is typically about £480 a year, with no excesses to pay (once your 07 reaches its third birthday next year, obviously).
 
Its a bit of a jump, especially if you're excited by low running costs. Also a big jump in terms of value of the car too

How about looking for a middle ground between running costs and performance? Golf GTi maybe?
