Currently running 6GB on an i7 920 with a nice 4GHZ OC. Im doing a bit of system tuning for BF3 and other titles later this year and wondering if it would be worth while upgrading to 8/12/16GB maybe? However I dont really want the increase of ram to effect my CPU overclock?

Worth it at the current low RAM prices. Upgraded my laptop from 4 to 8GB for less than 15 quid (after selling my old RAM too) and have noticed a difference in games and even in Windows too.

I'd suggest picking some RAM you think is appropriate and watching the price for a bit. RAM pricing seems to be still trending down with lots of sales around.

I did this with the 8GB kit I was interested in and by selling my old 4GB kit I managed to buy 16GB of DDR3 1600Mhz for a net total cost of £45 :)

My rigg is mainly used for gaming and I notice BC2 uses only 2.8Gb out of my 6GB and if I boot another game at the same time I use 3.5GB, is it really worth while, or is it the case of the more memory your system has the more itll use?

I was considering another 6gb of ram purely on price but after monitoring my PC at work today I will just be burning £40, when I'm running photoshop & corel at the same time it uses 3-4gb ram tops.

At home I too have a nice 4GHZ OC i7 and I would not want to upset it by adding more ram so I've decided against it for both PC's.

I've wondered about this myself... with my current set-up I'd like another 6gb but I'm concerned it would upset the OC settings that OCUK configured when I bought it.

Do you need more than 6GB? BF3 won't use more than 2GB itself, the OS is happy with 1GB to play with, that leaves 3GB for anything else you leave open in the background
