Aye, only a couple of months. With the 8800GTS at £250 now, I should think that a good few of those cards will drop into the £100-£200 pricerange.neocon said:yes, only a couple of months isnt it?
Arclite said:I have a very similar setup to yours and asked the same question not long ago. I would say exactly what people said to me when i asked. wait for a dx10 card! im sure the prices will drop dramatically once the ATiR600 hits the market. You could save a bit more and also get a new PSU.
Im afraid you would be taking a risk if you upgrade now to either 7800,7900 nvidia series or the X1900,X1950 Ati series with that much power. The graphic card below would be ideal for your budget if you are going to buy one now but that requires a min 450W psu: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-064-CO
However, do ask someone who may be using this card on a 400w PSU, you never know!
As you well know, the 7600 is a cracker of a card, overclocks well and would give some of the ati's variants a run for their money. I still have it and have no problems in running games at amazingly high details.
In the end its your decision, but i have already started to save for the furture dx10 upgrade![]()
