Hi guys i have another thread somewhere else, where i had said about this, i got some good feedback from the guys on the forum.
Now i have been thinking over the past few days weather i should just keep my 775 build (in sig) or weather i should upgrade to i3 now. As new tech will be coming out soon in the middle of the year.

Spec of my build in sig but upgrade to :-

Asus P5Q.... motherboard some model within the P5Q range.
Possibly better RAM
And i need a new optical drive.

Or weather i should put my money towards the i3 overclocked bundle that OCUK does as £300 or so and then adding your cooler which i will opt for a Corsair H50.

I will also be buying the gorgeous Fractal Design R2 Case as it looks a beaut.
This will be upgrading from my modded Mac Pro case.

Cheers
Nathan

Text hurts my eyes, you want newer tech than an i3, all I thought was coming out was expensive chips, 6 cores etc.

Is there anywhere on these forums or else where you can go to see exactly what new tech is coming out later this year? Apologies if this is generally known.

there are a few 32nm chips coming out and some very expensive 6 cores so there's no problem with upgrading to i3 now

@ yabsley it's generally a good idea to snoop out around the section for each corresponding bit of kit i.e: fermi info will be in the gpu section, gulftown info in the cpu section etc

There are two resposes to this. Tech will always be changing so buy now or choose to be an early adopter/cheaper older tech. Personally I may wait a couple of months as there may be more competition in the market for a number of components which will bring prices down a little....

I would stick with what you have for the moment and just upgrade your graphics card. The 4850 on this week only would be a big boost from a 9600GT.

yeah id wait unless your absouletely desperate to change. but my opinion is wait for couple months and save a bit more. if no developments go for the better i5 and a dx11 card such as the 5770

I'm going to be upgrading to an Phenom II X4 - but only because I don't tend to buy new tech until it's affordable (roughly £100-£150 per component is the budget I set asside).

Thanks for advice guys.
I will have between £250-300 this month and the start of next so that should get me some reasonable stuff as i am keeping my HDD and graphics card possibly. But im still not sure weather to upgrade to i3. Due to me only using my pc for games, photoshop and after effects and browsing.
