Hi
I am thinking new PSU or new GFX card (gonna get them 2nd hand to save money - in the MM)

Current specs -
Asus 9600XT
KV8 Pro
Generic 400W PSU
3200 Newcastle (754)
2x 512mb ram

Plus things like CD/DVD etc but they arn't important

What would you upgrade, if you had approx 100 quid to spend. I only really WANT to spend about £50, but will go upto 100 if its worth it.

I'd get either

XFX 6600 GT 128MB - £108.04
OcUK 6600 GT 256MB - £111.57
LeadTek 6600 GT 128MB - £99.82

The OcUK and LeadTek cards are on offer at the time of me posting this too and are a little cheaper.

Forgot to say, i'm having some problems with my computer, nad have had for sometime, it always crashes when i play games, so I want to upgrade more than one thing (esp if spending £100), so ill be able to at least tell if it wasn't a certain part causing crashes.

I was thinking a cheap x800, and a new psu. But i dunno.

If you can get a cheap AGP X800series card(not the 'se') for that sort of money and a new PSU then you will be doing well and it will be a good upgrade.

£100 isn't a lot of money when it comes to PC parts generally. What have you done to test your PC? If you haven't already I'd suggest running memtest86, Prime95 and probably a couple of the 3dmark series to see if they highlight any problems.

Akasa Ultra Quiet 400W Paxpower Active PFC ATX2.0 PSU - Black Nickel
Price: £33.95 (£39.89 Including VAT at 17.5%)

And have a look for a secondhand AGP card, probably be able to pick up a 6600GT for £60-£70 or an x800
