Hi all. I currently have an MSI HD 7950 Twin Frozr III Boosted edition 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express GPU.
That is mounted in the Gigabyte Z87X-D3H Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard.

Time to upgrade the graphics (having to dial back the detail/resolution now).

Any suggestions? I am thinking £300-£350.
Am I going to have to upgrade the motherboard? Hope not

This caught my eye... but its a totally uninformed guess, and might not work on my MB:

Thanks

Not a bad shout. At the mo, my money would be on the R9 390 (non-X). It's around 7% slower than the 390X and costs considerably less (though the VTX 390X is a pretty reasonable deal to be fair).

Btw, is your cpu and psu up to scratch? Your mobo will be fine (similar to mine); all you 'might' need is a bios update.

This. ^

The 390 is by far the best value for money card in the £200 - £300 price bracket right now.

ding din 390; if you reallllllly want you could snag the 390X if you want to spend the extra - it does handle higher res a little better than the 390; but if only at 1080p then sure get the 390.

Thanks for all the advice. That is great.
Gaming at 1080p I think (its the wifes gaming rig). Not sure.... have to check.

The processor is a Intel Core i7-4770K 3.50GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor
The PSU is a modular 750w.

Time to spend pennies then!
