Upgrade needed for Intel g840 system

This system becomes slightly laggy/unresponsive when lots of IE9 tabs are open. Task manager shows CPU at 100% (iexplorer.exe) at times and RAM was about 80%.

Would adding gpu improve things?

Intel g840
H61 Motherboard
4GB RAM
Win 7 64bit
SSD

I'd try a different browser as a first step.

This to be honest.

No hardware upgrade can resolve the problems with IE.

CPU usage at 100% don't mean your CPU is weak...it always does that when IE hang/freeze/crash.

Yes, system has an SSD.

It's not my PC and not my choice to use IE. Will ask my mum to use Chrome/FireFox instead.

Bear in mind Firefox has grown to use huge amounts of memory sometimes. I've seen it grow to over 1GB usage with a dozen tabs or so. I'm a bit dubious about Google and their intentions with Chrome so am giving SR Iron a go (offshoot of Chromium). Seems very stable so far.

theres an issue with ie9 where it dosent release the memory properly from previous / closed tabs. if you open task manager then go to processes youll most likely see about 4-5 ie processes running, when it seriously lags your pc it will probably be using over 1.5 gigs of memory.

this happenes to me on my work pc... just use google chrome / firefox and issue goes away from my expereince.
