Hi my build is here

- GIGABYTE GA-Z87-D3HP MOBO
- INTEL I5 4670K
- Corsair carbide 300R midi tower case
- Corsair builder CX 500w PSU
- Patriot Venom red 8Gb (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3 ram
- GTX 750ti gpu

ive had enough with gaming with my 750ti, just cant put up with it much longer :(

i game on a 1080 monitor and im thinking about getting the 1070ti as thats in my price range really, well over my price range but will save a bit. Is this my best choice for my setup do you think? im terrible when it comes to buying and making pc's, my friend helped me when i built it but hes no longer around. If the 1070ti will be ok what make would you recommend? i see there is over 26 different makes which just sounds insane as all of them are stating they are a 1070ti which is so confusing. also anyone with the same case as mine, do you know if the 1070ti fits ok in it? any help would be great, thank you ever so much for taking the time to help

The 300R is a nice roomy case. Should fit any card.

All graphic cards will have the same chip in them so the main difference you're paying for is the cooler. Some cards also have an upgraded PCB and components. Mostly, noise and temperature are the differences between cards. In terms of performance there's little variation. You could look into some reviews, by searching for, say, 1070Ti comparison.

If money is an issue second hand GTX980Ti's can be sourced on the usual site for around £150 and is ranked 18th fastest GPU at present, the 1070Ti is faster at 13th place but the cheapest on OCUK is around £400 new. The 1070Ti is unlikely to be replaced by the new RTX series so should stay current longer, but any falls in the price of the 1080Ti or 1080 may well have a knock on effect on prices of the lesser cards. A 1080 is currently £500 but might well fall closer to the price of the 1070Ti.

My advice would be to hold on to your cash until the Black Friday sales are upon us, and see if there are any reductions in the offing. NVidia are sitting on a lot of excess 1080Ti stock which shareholders are pressing them to get rid of via 'meaningful discounts' - there should be some kind of knock on effect there on lower order cards, if only temporarily.

hi all thanks for the replies

luckyy thats good to know

suubby my psu must be about 2-3 years old (entire build)

i was thinking of upgrading my 8gb ddr3 ram to 16gb ddr4 ram, but doing a little research does not seem myy MOBO will take ddr4......*sigh* why does one upgrade lead to so many problems lol :(

To be fair - ddr 3 - 4 wouldn’t make much difference anyway. Just put another 8gb of ddr 3 in and enjoy.

The 750ti is useless - you could get a 1060ti which would be more than adequate at 1080p and would be a large step up from the 750ti

Or a gtx 970 - also a good shout

There's no 1060 Ti - the 1050 Ti is a decent 1080 card but will show its age. The 970 is still a great card for 1080 IMO.

Must it be Nvidia?
It sounds like a Vega 56 or even better a Vega 64 would be in your price range and they currently come with 3 game codes including the next Assassins Creed which is due next month.

Or, you could save some money for the extra 8gb's of memory you want and buy an RX 580 which also comes with the same three games for free, The 580 is a good 1080p card, but as said if you can afford the Vega go for that, they're good cards with good driver support.
