Hi there guys and girls...

cpu= i7 920 @3.2ghz on easy tune as i haven't got the foggiest on over clocking

ram=3 x2gb patriot ddr3 1333mhz

gpu = gtx 570 sc hd 1248mb

x fi sound card fatality

psu=650wtx corsair

windows vista 64

monitor=samsung syncmaster bw2433bw

500gb sata 7200 seagate

Right then hear we go,i play bf3 and that's all i play don't really use the computer for anything else apart from a bit of browsing and im not getting the experience i want from bf3 mainly a bit choppy and not smooth enough to what im used too.
i need a advice on what to upgrade? i was thinking 700 pound mark and i also have a copy of windows 7 to use?
i want to sell the gpu and get 670 gtx but my mobo doesn't support a pci 3.0 ???? is that a problem? also new ram ,cpu and mobo ? is psu good enough ? ssd? really struggling as haven't pc gamed for a few years and picked this up for cheap 3 months ago and thought it be a lot better :-( also what sell on value do you think i would get for the old stuff?

any help would be grateful people

ps sorry for bad spelling and punctuation

Read up on overclocking (especially guides particular to your model) for a free upgrade (although you may need to spend £20-£30 on a decent cooler)

You should easily get to 4ghz with that CPU.

GFX card may also clock a bit so try overclocking that too.

Don't be afraid to ask questions on here there are loads of friendly people on here who have helped me countless times.

A cheap upgrade often overlooked is adding 2-3 120mm fans to your case helping to cool everything down and push that bit further when trying to get stable overclocks.

Although if you have got the upgrade bug an i5 3570k, z77 motherboard, a gellid tranquillo cooler and a 7950 should be ample for bf3.

you are using a triple channel cpu
and besides, if you're not maxing out 6gb ram, upgrading to 8gb ram wont make an ounce of difference

Your PC is fine for BF3. You either have software issues or your settings are just too high. Make sure you're using Adaptive Vsync (or none) via the Nvidia control panel.

BF3 is a big GPU hog so the 670 should help on the performance side of things. Overclocking the 920 to ~4ghz will help as well. Make sure to overclock via the BIOS instead of Easytune, this will give you a better, more stable overclock. 6gb of RAM won't hold back on BF3 as well, so no need to upgrade that.

And if you have a copy of 7, then use it ;).
