Upgrade needed

Hi all i am in need of a upgrade, I do a lot of photo editing in photoshop and my rig seems to be running slow my rig is as follows ...

asus pb5 delux
intel core 2 duo 6600 2.4ghz
ati radeon hd5700
4gb memory ddr2 6400
antec gaming case
Scythe Ninja fan
19" samsung syncmaster

what would you recommend .....

Depends on your budget?

I'd be looking at i5 2500k or i7 2600k.

Hi joem budget about £500 am not sure if i should just get new cpu,motherboard,memory and keep the rest .....

If you don't wanna upgrade motherboard, maybe go with a quadcore and more ram?

It will improve things for you, they overclock ok too. a Q6600 can be had pretty cheaply now. a q9550 (i think can be had for around 100). Would be the cheapest route.

Or if you fancy spending more for future proofing or something even faster

You may want an i7 2600k for encoding but Im not sure if the extra £££ is worth the performance for you.
Only got 8gb of RAM, you may want more. Depends how much RAM useage you foresee.

I dont know if your HDD and DVD are sata. May also need a new PSU

for your £500 budget i would add an SSD to the above specs and your good to go.
