Bit of a situation here.... I've been working in South Africa for a while so earlier this year i bought myself a nice MSI G60 (970m gfx) laptop to game on leaving behind my old desktop. Now i'm about to head back to the UK to live again i'm considering whether i should upgrade my desktop or maybe use my laptop connected to a monitor, keyboard etc.

My desktop spec is as follows:

Fractal Design R3 case
i7 3770k
Asus P8Z77-V
16gb Corsair PC3-12800
GTX 670 2048mb
Corsair CX 750W 80 PLUS Bronze
Asus Xonar DS 7.1

So to play the latest games at decent resolution on my 27" monitor I'm wondering what i should upgrade? Alternatively should I just connect up my laptop?

Advice would be welcome.

Arguably the only thing you need from that spec would be the graphics card - a 980Ti would be ideal I would guess.

You don't say what res monitor you have, or whether the 3770k is overclocked?

as others have said the PC is fine and would be better off replacing the GPU.

if you don't have the funds to do so then do what you suggested and connect your laptop to the monitor. can always give this a try first and see how it runs etc

Thank you all for such a quick response. Great community here!

I think the CPU is overclocked to something like 4.5 from recollection, but haven't seen the PC in quite a few months.

The monitor is a Samsung S27A750D 27" 120Hz 3D Widescreen Ultra Thin LED. That and the GFX card are definitely options for upgrading - i love my visuals!
