Well I have been long thinking of upgrading my AMD64 3200 and Galaxy 6800GT to something that can handle my Dell 2405
Was thinking on the right lines to go PCi, dual core 4400, 1900XT with crossfire sometime, but now picking up the fact that socket ?940 and AM2 processors are on the horizon with motherboards already being produced, then also read about Intel Conroe and supposed big gains for less money and heat!
So I can get my rig now, or hold for 3-4 months and then save a little extra to buy the new technology - even though initially its often full of probs etc
I would presume AM2 or Conroe would follow a much better upgrade path - or just buy another new rig again in 18 months or so (which I doubt as its getting less and less easy to ahem 'justify'
)
