Upgrade now or wait?

I haven't upgraded since 2016, and suddenly have around £1300 to spare for new toys. I can get a 3080 and x690 12600kf in that budget if I hold onto my DDR4. The rest of my kit doesn't need upgrading.

I know there's a lot of new stuff around the corner, but Zen 4 and Raptor lake will both require DDR5, adding significantly to the budget, and it doesn't look like the next gen GPUs will land this side of Christmas (and at God knows what price and availability).

If I wait it could be 4 or 5 months, and up to £400 extra on the budget.

Any thoughts?

Wait 4-5 months, with a £400 bigger budget. You'll get something better, the new stuff will have started to mature and iron the bugs out, DDR5 has already dropped a lot so should be cheaper by then and the midrange stuff should hopefully be on the horizon if it isn't already out.
