Upgrade of CPU

Morning,

I have an e4400 c2d, and the rest of my kit can support a bit more. But I was wondering, if I only upgrade the cpu - will this mean I have to reinstall windows? Can I not just take that one out, put a new one in and reboot?

Replace,Reboot

It really is that simple.Just check the BIOS before booting into windows to make double sure settings are all ok.

Does that count even if the number of cores change? Or am I only OK if I stay c2d?
