I currently have a Seasonic 1000w prime platinum, it was bought from here on the forums in 2019, I was a new warranty replacement, I’m now debating with myself whether to upgrade to one that has the 12vhp socket, instead of using 3pcie to 2vhp cable and also getting 1200w at the same time, am a wasting my money ?

Unless it's making your case untidy, I would keep the one that you have. The 3pcie to 2vhp doesn't seem to the the bit that's causing the problems anyway. Just make sure the GPU cables are well seated.

Waste of money, just get the cable recommended above (if compatible). I am using a cable like this and you cannot tell the difference with it being under a shroud.

If you are going to get a 5090 then maybe get a 1200w PSU. Not sure if 1000w is enough, but given yours is a top notch PSU, it may be up to the job.
