I have decided to upgrade the comp thats in my sig with the following:

Intel Core 2 Quad-Core Q6600, S775, 2.40 GHz, 1066MHz FSB, 8MB Cache, Retail
Asus P5N32-E SLI NF680i SLI, S 775, PCI-E (x16), DDR2 533/667/800, SATA II, SATA RAID, ATX
2GB (2x1GB) CorsairTwinX XMS2, DDR2 PC2-6400 (800), 240 Pins, Non-ECC Unbuffered, 4-4-4-12, EPP, DHX

I will be keeping both of my 7800gtx cards in SLI (until newwer dx10 cards come out)
I will also be keeping my PSU...Enermax 620watt
(also, the hdd's, dvd drives, sound card etc)

So I'm just changing the cpu, mobo and ram

Do people think the 3 I have up there are good choices? Please advise, thanks

(budget no more than about £400 and the above is exactly £400)

I have heard this but what board would people recommend? Cant go with P35 chipset as I am using SLI still for the moment

what do other people have?

Well if the motherboard has issues with Ram then as I see it you have two basic choices, go for Ram that is known to work with it or change motherboard. The Asus P5N-E 650 SLi is a pretty decent motherboard and cheaper although when in SLi the PCI-E lanes only run at 8x, not that it makes a huge deal of difference. :)

think i'll go for a different mobo since I've heard a lot of things about the ram not liking this board

what do peopel think of:
Abit IN9 32X-MAX WiFi NF680i SLI, S 775, PCI-E (x16), DDR2 800/1066/533, SATA II, SATA RAID, ATX

It gets a lot of good review on the OCUK site
