I'm going for an upgrade shortly after xmas from the i7 950 to the 3570k and just wanted a few opinions really since I managed to spend a lot of money on crap on my last build lol. So the upgrade will be the following:

i7 950 To i5 3570k
RIIIE To Asus Maximus V (debatable)
6GB Vengeance To 8GB Dominator
H70 To H80i

All wrapped up in a CM HAF X...

The board is debatable because I simply did not want to spend a crazy amount of money of another board with loads of features I wouldn't ever use such as that on the RIIIE. Bare in mind though I chose the Maximus due to the look of the board as well as it's features because eventually everything will be colour matched. All opinions are welcome and appreciated on all parts.

Thanks

Personally I think it's silly to get an mATX board in a case like that, you'll get a cheaper and better board in full ATX size. I'd recommend a board like this one:

If only because I've had a good run with Gigabyte motherboards. It is capable of crossfire with a 3.0 4x slot, which is bandwidth equivalent to a PCI-E 2.0 8x slot so if you do decide to get two 3.0 GPUs there should not be any bottlenecking at all.

for me i'd stick with what you got. as you haven't mentioned games or card etc, what do you do than needs more power etc? as the system you have is plenty fast enough for most apps, memory is such a small amount as well to change also.

are you spending just for the sake of it? as you seem to need to justify it.

with sdd's and maybe more memory your system would be as good as the one your looking for anyway, so if you already have sdd's then stay as you are or just add more memory at the most.

unless there is some great need for something that you haven't explained etc which will make your reasons for an update more clear?
