I have a i5-2500k running at 4ghz and 12 gig of ram and a GTX 570

I currently play BF3 but have been looking at ARMA 3 or Dayz or Bf4 and was wondering if there is any point in upgrading or will i be able to play with what I have?

Im looking at £100-£150

Anyone got any suggestions?

Edit - I should have mentioned I game at 1080

I have the same processor as you and went from an MSI GTX 570 to a MSI R9 280x.

I'm getting between 70 and 80 fps on Battlefield 4 on ultra settings at 1080p. This may improve once I get mantle installed. I can't comment on Arma or DayZ.

For me the upgrade was definitely worth it, the 570 was a great card but is a little long in the tooth these days.

I have same processor as you and I went to GTX 770. Big improvement but this was back when the 770 was nearer the £200 mark.

For that budget, I think second hand will give you the best boost in fps for the money. The 270x is within your price range, but it doesn't look like a worthwhile boost in 'some' games (I've used a GTX660 as a comparison, which is a little faster than a GTX570) :

For the record, I went from an overclocked GTX570 (around stock 580 performance) to the 7970 in my signature, so you 'may' be ok with the 270x - as that's very close to stock 7950 performance. I've found the 7970 to be around twice as fast as my 570.

For ARMA3 I would think your CPU would be more limited than your GTX570 does.

However if talking purely on upgrading on graphic terms, I would say don't go for anything lesser than a 280x...ideally you should even aim for a GTX780 or 290.

Not much point upgrading around the £100 mark. it won't be much of an increase.

Stretching to a 270X (after selling the 570) is an option.
