Well what would be best to upgrade on my computer at the minute with?

Current specs:

E2180 @ 3Ghz @ AC7 (bad chip, 1.5 volts to be stable)
Asus P5E
2Gb Geil ULL
512mb 8800gt
500Gb Caviar
X-Fi Xtreme Gamer
CM-690
CM Realpower 620W
Vista HP 64-bit

Thinking of getting:

4Gb (2x2Gb) OCZ Gold
E7200
Another 500Gb Caviar
Other assorted Things (eclipse 2 for example)

Anything you guys can advise?

Apart from memory I cant see any reason to bother upgrading anything else. It would seem like a waste of time. Well, perhaps an extra hard drive if your short on space ;)

if i had to upgrade

Ram 2x2
Q6600 or e8400
samsung f1 hdd whatever size if best for you w/ money left over
or some nice speakers or peripherals i.e. new mouse/mat, keyboard.

or

ram and a new monitor, (226BW only £200ish)

I have lots of videos and pictures on my current caviar, ive got around 20Gb left atm but may run out soon.

Thats what i was thinking, ive chosen the 2x2Gb and the e7200 because they are the best value for what you can do with them (2x2Gb over 4x1Gb as it would be more stable). I was also getting another caviar as i have had a good run with them (no failures at all for all the time ive used them). As for prepherals i'm getting a mousemat and a new keyboard (my comfort curve is no longer silent or at least long from it).

Would do that but im happy as it is with my monitor (19" imagequest) however may upgrade it in a few months to a 24".

Wouldn't a new CPU be your first choice if its a bad chip and unstable ?

That is what i was thinking as the e2180 was a stopgap for a 45nm quad, i now see that i dont need a quad as i dont encode, i chose the e7200 as it is 45nm and can be OC'ed to 3.8 with ease.
