Currently i have got the following as in my sig.

E2180
P5E X38 Mobo
2gb Geil ULL
PNY8800GT
WD Caviar 500Gb
CM Realpower 620W

I am however looking to upgrade the componants in it however am not sure what i should upgrade.

During january i am looking at having around 400-500 and during may i am looking towards having another 300 on top of that.

I am thinking about buying the following during January:

Q6600 OEM
2Gb more Geil
Another 500Gb Caviar
Tuniq Tower (to replace my AC7 Pro)

And the following in May:

·Maybe· Another 500Gb Caviar
·Maybe· One of the new intel proccessors if they are out and if i didnt buy a Q6600
·maybe· A Nvidia 9xxx Series card if released

would these be a good route to go for when i decide to upgrade and do you think i will have enough money to do this?

your prob better waiting for the conroe to come out tbh, q6600's will drop a lot in price. what are you going to do with 1.5 terrabytes of data? I know bungie use 7 terrabytes on their network. and they hardly touch it.

if you really wanna waste money on hard disk space get a solid state drive to go with your 1tb hard drives and throw windows on it.

9 series will cost you a lot tbh. and the current software/games dont really need them :p

I am not currently considering a new monitor as i dont see it to be a big issue and i dont need an extra 5" for 400. (btw my pound sig on my keyboard is kaplut so im buying a new keyboard)

I am only considering the third 500Gb drive if the second one i buy is filled, my current harddrive has got around 400Gb on it which amassed i about 2 weeks.

I would expect the prices of the 9800's to be around the price of ULTRA's now but they may be lower, i would also buy a new monitor with it if i think it is needed.

when are the new intel chips predicted to be released aswell?

Currently i have the following sat in my basket waiting till i recieve my money :D

SteelPad 4D Plastic Mouse Pad
GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400ULL
Western Digital Caviar SE16 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache
Tuniq Tower 120-LFB CPU Cooler
Yate Loon D12SH-12 120mm Case Fan
OcUK Value L2442W 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor OR Samsung SM-245B 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor

I dont know which monitor to choose between the OCUK and the Samsung, this is because i would prefer quality over cheapness however i have heard of many problems with samsung monitors and i dont want to have to return parts so that i would be waiting. Once i get some replies i will eliminate one of the monitors in favour of the other.

Does the tuniq tower come with a backplate at all because since this was my first build i am not sure of how easy it would be compared to the AC7 PRO, how wouldmy temps be opposed to this aswell? (with the Yate loon attatched if i am correct that i can do this)

I have chose the steelpad as my desk has a gap (one side around 5mm higher than the other) to which my G5 has to "jump" over whilst in use, the steelpad should bridge the gap fine i hope.

My last main concern is whether my 8800gt would cope at the resolution of the monitor and how much AA would be needed to have the same effect as at 1440x900, surely less would be needed at this res.

And finally is Vista SP1 out and how much is it of an improvement from standard vista?
