Upgrade Options

I am playing with the idea of an upgrade to my current setup which should appear in my sig, I do not play the latest games, only eve online atm (usually running 1 - 3 clients). I like the idea of dual core; let’s say that my budget is £400.

you could sell you cpu and your existing ram & GFX card to make about £100- £150 there, thus making you budget about £550.

You could get a x2 3800 (OEM) for about £188
Also get a 2gb kit of ram (G skill zx) for £152
And then a new gfx card for about £170-£200 (either x1800XT or 7900GT)

That would be a spanking new system for you.

Cool, the £400 isnt set in stone and I would probably make the upgrades in steps, depending on what the upgrade would cost. Keep the ideas comming .

Been looking at the GFX and the price ranges between cards are a fair amount, could people please recommend a few cards.

Also having dual core, does windows automatically use the both cores or does it have to be done manually, how does it work. Thanks
