Hi,

My current PC I think is now struggling to play the games I want (Fallout 4 / GTA 5 + others).

Current PC is:

HIS ATI Radeon HD 6950 IceQ X Turbo 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor -
Asus P8Z68-V Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard
Antec 902 Nine Hundred Two (V3) Ultimate Gaming Case (with USB3.0 Support)
Antec TruePower New Modular 750W '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply
Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-15000C9 1866MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMZ8GX3M2A1866C9)
OCZ Agility 3 60GB 2.5" SATA-3 Solid State Hard Drive (AGT3-25SAT3-60G)

Also playing on a DELL U2515H ADZG 25-Inch LCD Monitor, don't really need a new monitor as quite happy with the size of it

I made this in August 2011 (Monitor in 2016) so as you can see is getting on a bit now.

Budget is a bit up in the air, quite happy to spend £800 if it is worth it?

The games I mentioned before is what I play currently but want any new system to last me quite a while as I don't upgrade very often.

I assume I can use my current case and just renew mobo/ram/cpu/gpu/psu?

Being out of systems for years I wouldn't know what is best to buy.

Thanks :)

For an £800 budget you could get a newer DDR4 build, I'd say Ryzen would be best bang for buck and as you already have bits to reuse youll save a few £££

That would tear through the games you mention, although you could potentially save a few quid by going for the 3600 and getting an M2 drive?

The PSU you have will would run that system. :)

I have actually got a different main SSD now, forgot I had upgraded that bit.

It is a Samsung 850 250gb so I think that should do me for the foreseable future?

Is there an Intel option for a similar price/performance from what I have posted?

Would I be better getting a cheaper CPU and spending more on a better GPU or is what I selected about the best options?

Thanks :)

250gb is enough for OS and a few games and will have better load times in some games...

To save money also you could get a MSI B450 board which accepts Ryzen 3*** Series without need BIOS flash

I would expect you to see a noticeable difference if you spent the saved money from the 3600 on a more expensive GPU. :)

Below build is ~£55 cheaper and will give you superior performance coupled with a V56.

The MSI B450 has had a facelift (becoming the MAX) - added 32MB eeprom making it Zen-2 compatible out of the box with preeety GUI (no PCIe 4 is not a loss)

You will need to add £80 to the spec for Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 3200MHz (Make sure AES is in product code - E-Die) - clocks as easily as the B-die you have listed and half the price (members hitting 3600MHz+ 16CL):

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £698.07 (includes shipping: £11.10)

Total with memory - ~£780.

No hard wired to switch/router.
Unfortunately, OcUK don't stock have stock of the Tomahawk in any flavour - the alternative would be the MSI 450 Pro Carbon but then you're getting close to x570 money with zero potential hassle.

Personally, I would recommend sourcing the MAX from elsewhere and along with the Crucial memory as would enable you to get a superior GPU coupled with quality memory - but you must do what feels comfortable for you.
