Hey guys, trying to work somthing out for my friend atm,

His current spec is:
• Q6600 @ STOCK
• Generic 115w PSU
• 2GB DDR2 RAM
• Stock cooler
• 500gb WD HDD
• N wireless Network card
• DVD Drive
• Generic case

I'm not too sure on this GPU, all I know is that its built into the motherbord and is made by NVIDIA so will need a upgrade.

Whats needed:

  • Case

    PSU

    GPU

CPU/mobo - Or maybe even get a upgraded 775 board for the Q66600 then clock it?

    RAM

    CPU cooler
He does not need a OS or anything else.

Thanks guys :)

The HDD and DVD drives are SATA?

But I think you should get the Q6600 working with 4GB of RAM and overclock it to 3GHz with a fat heatsink.

I was wondering how long it would take you stulid! <3
yer dvd and hdd are both SATA and I also like your idea with the Q6600 as it would save allot of £
Thanks :)

Would I be better off getting him a 2500 becouse he prob wont oc the 2500K?

The "K" is the same price so makes sense as its worth more.

As for getting a lga775 board and DDR2 etc, only buy second hand, the prices for new ones means its cheaper to sell the Q6600 and get a Z68+DDR3 and the faster sandybridge chip.
