Hi all,

I am looking to upgrade my machine or even go brand new.
Below is my current spec:

My budget is around £1000. I am a Sim Racer and gamer in general so that will be my main operation.
I do small graphics and video work but primarily gaming and Sim Racing.

I have never Overclocked before, there do not know if that would be an option?

What would people recommend for this type of setup?

Many thanks

I'm not sure if the DH15 cooler will fit in your case - a quick call to OCUK will be needed to check if no one else chimes in - so:

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £608.03
(includes shipping: £11.10)

That should provide a fine start and both parts will carry over to a new motherboard should the performance boost be insufficient.

Pretty much. Is your monitor overclocked to 144Hz?

Couple of 1070s with discount codes:

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £438.89
(includes shipping: £9.90)

Code: GBT1070

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £430.49
(includes shipping: £10.50)

Code: Zot1070

OK, I will look at 1070 or even 1080

What would a good CPU cooler be other than the Noctua to overclock?

All these should fit if the CPU cooler height clearance on the Antec 100 is indeed 160mm as reviews say.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £583.42
(includes shipping: £11.70)

You're going to get a nice overclock with the CoolerMaster Hyper 212, so you don't have to spend too much. But if you fancy even better performance there's other options. Note that a couple of the Prolimatech heatsinks don't bring fans, you add your own to them.

Hi Danny,

I would definitely like to overclock, but I have never done it before. Then I would like urge on the side of caution and spend a little more on good cooling to not get it wrong.

Cheers
