Upgrade or not 2500K

The gains from jumping to an i7 wouldn't be much at all, 10-20%. IF you love Battlefield so much, and run Windows 7, you will find a bigger leap in performance by 'upgrading' to 8 and squeezing more out of your 2500k's overclock. That's if you can live with that horrible metro system that even in desktop mode is still there.

Thanks for all the info guys, i'm running Windows 8 at the moment and will try and get a better clock out of the 2500K. I should receive the 7970 tomorrow so can also give that a OC also :)

As stated earlier I think you will only run into a GPU bottleneck if you went crossfire. Currently I am running a 2500K @4.8 with crossfired 7950s at 1150/1600. On big 64 man maps I can see some bottlenecking when it gets really busy on the screen. Thats running everything at ultra. Dialing it down to high pretty much eliminates this.

I game at 2560 x 1080
