Upgrade or Not?

This is my current setup:

Asus Maximus V Gene
2600K running at 4.5 GHz
GTX 780 GPU
16GB Samsung Green RAM
Samsung 830 SSD x 2
WD Black 1TB
Corsair H100i Cooler

Is it really worth my while updating to the Z97 boards & cpu or should I put my money elsewhere (apart from your bank account

). Just got some spare money and getting upgradeitis!

Don't bother.

The difference between your 2600k and the new Devils Canyon would be less than 20%, seems kind of pointless.

New monitor?

Thanks for that. Got a Dell U2412M monitor at the moment. I did think about getting a Samsung 1TB SSD instead of the WD Black but probably just itchy feet again.

Do you need a 1TB SSD, 256GB is the sweet spot and less than £100.00 if you shop around.

what PSU/case do you have? if you have the itch, you might be able to spend on those

Shameful but still 1600 MHz! Can't be bothered to OC them yet.

I bet you haven't even tightened the timings up at that speed? If not, permaban!!!!

Seriously though, you should get them speeded up really. It's free plus you still keep tight timings. Mine is at 2133mhz @ 9-10-10-21-1T with only 1.5v plus the seconds and thirds are tightened up too. It's what they are built for.

Done it but don't notice much difference, should I?

Not in gaming but it could help with encoding and stuff like that. It's good to get the most out of a system too.
