Thinking of getting two EVGA 970's to replace my 680's. I don't have any problem with my 680's at the moment as I'm gaming in 1080p. Would it be worth upgrading for future games ? And is the downscaling any good ?

If you're not having any problems with what you have at the moment then I'd say no. Best thing is to wait until a game you really want to play is causing you problems and upgrade then or if you move to higher res. That way you also get the latest tech rather than buying now for what might happen gaming wise later.
