Hi guys
For the last few years ive been using a core i5 3330 and 8gb of ddr3 ram ( 1333mhz ) ... combined with that i recently replaced a HD6850 with a significantly better MSI R9 270x 4GB ..
for now im happy with the gpu and ram, however my problem is if i want to upgrade my cpu i would have to ditch the complete motherboard, cpu and ram ( if i go to ddr4 ) and this would be significantly more expensive than simply replacing the cpu
is there any reason why i couldnt keep on using the core i5 3330 and then replace it later on with say a core i7 2600k ( which i can get for £90 second hand )
as it stands im running all games ok and theres no problems, however sooner or later the socket 1155 processor will become a relic,so whats your advice ?
the annoying thing is my second pc also uses socket 1155 ( a core i3 3220,8gb ram and the HD6850 ) .. and im suprised how well that still performs .....
ok its allright for tiny tom logan and linus sebastion to tell us to upgrade to the latest £300 mobo and £500 cpu, however most of us dont have £800 to spend on upgrades and they get engineering samples most of the time that does not cost a penny ....
any feedback will be much appreciated
take care guys and happy xmas !
