I'm chasing down opinions here as it's come to the time when I need a replacement for my PC161's, the cable i've had taped together for the last 18 months has finally worn through to the point i'm losing sound in the right ear and the mic is the same sorry stub it's been for the last two years. As you can probably tell from the damage, i'm pretty heavy usage with my headsets so i'm after durability as much as quality.

Should I just replace them with a new pair of PC161's, for the quality is solid, if the build is a little brittle, or are the PC350's truly worth the extra £53 cost to someone after that clarity of sound (I'll be using an X-fi soundcard I already have in place). I'm an intensive gamer as well as a music fanatic so they'll be used constantly. I'm a Sennheiser loyalist so i'll not be considering other brands, i've had too much trouble with other headsets in the past.

Which offers the best value quality for money folks?

I've had both. The 350s are worth the extra imo. but I'd recommend some £70 AKGs and a seperate mic if you can. The sound quality will be vastly superior to either (coming from an owner of both). The 350s are far more durable than the 161s too if you're dead-set on a headset.
