This is my current system :

Mobo: Intel E7525
Proc: Intel Xeon 3.00Ghz x 2
Memory: 2 gig
Grx: Geforce 7600 GT
Sound: Emu10kx
OS: Xp

This was originally a server turned into my personal computer. I know i am lacking on graphics. I am looking to spend max £1500 on either a new build or upgrade, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

PS, i would looking at this machine, but maybe with a bit more graphics power :
"Titan Gamer Pro" Crossfire HD 4870 AMD Phenom X4 9950 2.60GHz Quad Core SILENT DDR2 System

Gaming is the main usage, i know computers are not future proof, but i would like to be safe to play future games comfortabley. I dunno how to find out what socket it is.

ye download cpu-z and i think its the second or third line down on the opening screen

personally id go for an intel cpu for gaming buts thats me

and a bit more than 4870x2?

i was thinking x260 from nvidia, but the 4870x2 has been in my mind ? Socket 604 mPGA apparently, hope that means something to you :/. Do you think i should do a rebuild or just update this rig then?

"Titan Gamer Pro" Crossfire HD 4870 AMD Phenom X4 9950 2.60GHz Quad Core SILENT DDR2 System, do you think this would do with x260 instead of the graphics card what comes with it?

Nah, if you're spending that much money go with an Intel Core 2 Quad build.

The 4870 is great though.

"Titan Accelerator" Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.40GHz @ 3.00GHz+ DDR2 System, that system with a grpahics card upgrade?

Last question before i start to get to work, this would be easily upgradable aswell? Thanks for your patience

Erm yeah. You wouldn't be able to upgrade to a Core i7 though or DDR3 RAM (doesn't matter, they're too expensive).

Just don't know what the policies OcUK have on the user opening up the case and how this affects the warranty.

I won't be planning on opening anytime soon, well until it has run it's life like this one. Is DDR3 worth the wait or? What's core i7? Never heard of it.

I am really considering waiting a while and do a complete rebuild with DDR3, it might be more expensive but will be well worth it in the long run.
