Upgrade or wait

Hi,

I need a bit advice and I thought I'd be at the right spot here!

Is now a good time to upgrade or will the prices drop A LOT more in the coming weeks as AMD and Intel are having sort of a price war?

I'd be upgrading to this:
E6600
Asrock 4Core
2GB Kingston PC6400 CAS4

Would that be ok or is the Asrock 4Core really bad?

I have this system:
AMD 4000+
A8N-SLI
2GB Kingston DDR400
Geforce 7950GT

The 4Core isn't a terrible motherboard but it isn't good for overclocking particularly and because it is designed as a form of intermediate step when upgrading to socket 775 it doesn't do anything brilliantly. It is just competant. I'd suggest spending a bit extra and going for something like the Gigabyte S3 at ~£70 as minimum because it overclocks well and is generally quite a good motherboard at the cheaper end of the scale.

The prices are already pretty low on Core2Duos so be careful of waiting too long as they might not dip much lower.
