Current Setup:
CPU -
Intel Pentium E5800 @ 3.20GHz 38 °C - Wolfdale 45nm Technology
RAM - 8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 399MHz (6-6-6-15)
Motherboard - MSI G41M-P28 (MS-7592) (CPU 1) 29 °C
Graphics - Standard Monitor (1280x1024@60Hz) - Intel G41 Express Chipset (MSI)

The above setup has been running my office PC for a few years, the Graphics card died so logical thing was to get a whole new rig. (HA! Any Excuse).

The plan was to gift this to my Nephue but on "Can You Run It" shows that Fortnite won't play. I need to upgrade the CPU and Graphics?

The Compatability List is Huge for the G41M-P28 but the 775 Socket seems to be rather old. So figuring out what would be the best and affordable upgrade path I'm completely lost.

The CPU's I've looked at are expensive! Has me wondering do I scrap the motherboard too, would seem a waste.

Nephue doesn't play AAA titles on PC but Fortnite, Apex Legends and a PC for School, going into year 7 next year.

Your thoughts welcome..

Also Q9550 would be fit.
Too bad that chipset likely doesn't support overlocking. (Intel has long charged extra for that)
45nm Core 2s were crazy overclockers.
I had 1.25VID E0 stepping Q9550 which I undervolted to 1.2V and overclocked fair 30% to 3.7GHz+change.
Nowadays people mistake overvolting and bloating power consumption for overclocking...

Though there's the question how well that CPU VRM can handle quads...
That seems to be pretty low end mobo.
And by today's standards they're very low end for gaming.
So price should be at pocket money level.
