Hey there! Little help, My current PC's motherboard USB ports are all becoming very erratic constantly disconnecting and such, coupled with my case USBs not working from day 1 really.

So new case is on the cards either way, But my upgrading can go several ways.

- Stay with the same processor and just replace the motherboard.

- Upgrade both.

- Change from AMD to intel and go down that motherboard/cpu path.

My current spec is,

AMD Phenom II x4 955 @3.2
Asus M4A89GTD PRO Socket AM3
Nvidia GTX460 768MB
4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C6 1600MHz Dual-Channel
...all in a terrible case.

Just replacing the motherboard is the cheapest solution, but I could part with around £200 for any of the other options if I can give myself a few more years of use or put myself on a longer lasting upgrade path if anyone has any suggestions?

Cheers

I would probably just change the motherboard, then add a SSD, with the new board this will allow you to upgrade to Piledriver at a later date of needed.

I would just swap out the motherboard, that will fix your USB problems. Then maybe get a new CPU if it is on a good weekly in the shop.
