I've been looking to upgrade my CPU & Motherboard for a little while now and and since the release of Haswell, I've been dead set on getting 4670k/4770k with a nice board.

Now I have access to the MM, I've been thinking that maybe going for a 2500k/2600k/2700k would be a better solution.

I'm a massive gamer and by no means have a requirement to buy the newest gear, but if I have the money then I would like to get something newer. I know I would see a massive performance jump over my FX-6100, but not convinced it's worth it.

I know the SB series have been labelled the last best overclocker which really tempts me, but un-decided. Going SB would also save me money.

What do you think?

You can easily pick up a CPU and board for under £200..

As you know my 2500k does 4.7 under a d14, so near 5ghz isn't out of the question.

Id get yourself a 2600k/2700k if you can. Hyperthreading may help in some instances.

Which case will you be using?

Still using your k2?

:)

I had a bit of an epiphany and thought as much as I would like Haswell, at the moment, prob end of august, I could upgrade to something a little more powerful without breaking the bank and I cannot be doing AMD with their recent new on the FX-9 series. Intel is much more appealing.

I also feel awful as I keep changing my mind making people like you repeat yourself more than once. I was looking at the 2600/2700 as the hyperthreading would help with occasional encoding and my photography.

I will be using my current case, 600T and my K2. I wouldn't get rid of that for anything. :)
