Upgrade - please help

Hi all,
Need to upgrade few things, can someone please give me some advice?

I really didn't want to upgrade my PSU, but I understand my 550w corsair will not be enough?

The cx series is not great but as long as your PSU is functioning okay, it will handle a 780 and a 3570k.

Which 550w psu do you have? Just because it says 550w on the label doesn'y mean it can deliver that on the all important 12v and this is especially true with Corsair's cheaper models.

The rig in my siggy pulls 290-320w at the wall while gaming so your 550w "should" be enough.

If you do decide to change it don't go for a CX series. They are overpriced and have cheap internals. For a extra tenner you could have the excellent EVGA Supernova G2 750w which is a Superflower built unit with a industry leading 10 year warranty.
