Well within the last hour my 4870x2 has just died, been having artifacting for couple weeks now. Tried to play ro2 after a few mins of it it bsod so im looking for another card.

Spent most of my wages already, so I have around £200 to muck about on a new card with. What I have as iv been running my games at max with the 4870x2 for a while and the card has been good to me so i feel like sticking to ati as the card is coming up to maybe 3 years old and done good.

What im thinking off looking on ocuk, is a 6870 or a 6950, I have a q9550, I was wondering if this may cause especially the 6950. I have an ASRock overclocker client thing i can run from my desktop oddly enough to wack it up to around 3.4 which may help from 2.8.

So just looking at these two cards they seems fantastic value and powerful so im leaning towards them, what would you guys recommend? By the way im not totally against getting an nvidia card either and paying a tad extra, something like a 560.

Thanks.
Kind Regards Jeza

Noticed you got two 24" monitors, what resolution will you be gaming at?

A 2GB 6950 or a GTX560Ti should fit the bill nicely. Check out benchmarks for the games you play and see whether they favour the red or green card.

Other one broke, forgot to remove, just one 24'' asus at the moment @1920x1080 , iv never gone to the green team, always had amd, so as for nvidia i have heard many positive things about power and reliability ect, which will help im sure, i play ArmA series mainly so future wise it'll be for ArmA 3, bf3 RO2.

Not really, any stock 6950 can work at the factory overclocked frequencies. The vapor-x version has a nice cooler on it not sure what the ice-q one is like. Personally I'd get the one with the best games.
