I was wondering if the following Dell PC could be upgraded to a C2D, say a Q6600?

Current CPU: Pentium D 920 Presler, Socket 775 LGA
Current MOBO: Dell, 0FJ030, i945P chipset.

I'm pretty sure it can with a BIOS flash but I'm not sure of any Dell constraints on upgrades.

What do you think?

It is unlikly, most 945 boards required vrm updates to take Core based CPUs.

This. And I can't really see Dell putting up new BIOSes with Core 2 support for their 945 boards.

[Edit] If I really wanted to know, i'd get something like an E6300/6400/6600, pop it in, and fire it up. If none of those three work, you won't have Core 2 support.
