I just bought a new cpu and board from a friend, i was going to buy them from here but he gave me an offer i couldn't refuse

So i have installed the components but the problem is he said to me that he had a problem with a ssd a while back and he thinks it has broken the board.
But i bought it anyway but my computer is not turning on at all the fans or anything are not spining up, so i am wondering if the board has something to do with this.
If anyone can tell me anything it might be but this it would be apreciated?
