Upgrade Quad 6600?

Is there much gain to be had upgrading my quad 6600 to say a Q9650?

main use is video editing.

I'd say no. Clock for clock there's not much improvement. How far have to clocked the 6600?

Not really, it's a big spend for little extra performance.

You have a good P35 board there, have you considered overclocking your Q6600 the max? If it's the G0 stepping, 3.5GHz is achievable on most chips. However, to reach this you may need to improve your CPU cooler, what cooler are you currently using?

Running at 3ghz and using Freezer 7 Pro.

probably stay as I am for a while then - cant be bothered to do a big upgrade as I have 3 OS's set up on my machine at the mo (win xp pro - Vista 64 and win 7).
