Upgrade Question

I'm in the process of making a small upgrade to my s939 machine - and am looking to purchase the x2 3800+ to replace my single core 3700+. I'm also going to be dropping in another gig of RAM and a new GTS.

Is it worth making a jump to a cheap C2D mobo/RAM/CPU over the 3800+? If there isn't much in the way of notable difference between the 3800+ (with 2gb of DDR) and E2180 (with 2gb of DDR2) then I won't bother, but seeing as this is to last me for a while longer, I'd like to get the most out of this upgrade now.

I'm Upgrading from an 3800+ X2 to an Intel E2180.

Not sure about the changeover but I know the E2180 clocks really really well, and if you don't see a difference with it at stock, you will see a difference when you've overclocked it.

...so it'd be worth the extra fews £££ in skipping the 3800+ and getting the E2180?
