Upgrade Question

Hey there

So I want to upgrade my graphics card from a 3850 256MB. I was looking at the 4850 512MB which seems good value and getting excellent reviews, but how is the 3870XT 512MB compared to the 4850? Is it a better or worse card? The 3870XT has 775MHz core and 512MB 2250MHz whereas the 4850 has 625MHz core and 512MB 1986MHz.

Which would you recommend for gaming and why? Also, I would like the one that will enable me to play upcoming games such as Far Cry 2, Fallout 3, Warhammer Online and others as close to maxed out as possible on my PC, spec is in my signature.

4850 beats 8800GTX which beats 3870

4850 doesnt suffer much when AA and AF is applied

Nope nothing!!

If your going to spend £150 you may as well pay the extra £30 and get a 4870 or save the £30 to get the 4850 both are great cards and amazing VFM right now.

between 100-150, 4850 is the best bang for buck card, below that look for a second hand 8800GT/GTS/GTX i say
