Upgrade question

I am thinking of upgrading my cpu mb and ram and tryin to keep my case and wanted to know if what I am picking with work together and fit in said case.

Antec 300 Gaming case

Coolermaster V8 CPU cooler

i7 CPU 2.80Ghz

Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R Intel X58

Corsair Dominator 3GB (3x1GB) DDR3

I also have a GTX 260 Black Edition, Coolermaster Silent Pro 850w PSU and SATA hdd and DVD re writer.

Any suggestions would be great.

The 860 you've got selected is socket 1156 and uses dual channel DDR3. You'd be better off going with the 920.

What do you intend on using the machine for? i7 is usually overkill.

The CPU you've chosen won't fit in that motherboard

If your gaming with that budget then an i5 is what you want.

That should be similar to your original budget but more suited to your needs

The CPU is the wrong type for that mothrboard and memory configutation. The i920 is the right type (socket 1366)

I'd go for the corsair h-50 than spending more $$$ on air coolers imo.

the v8 is rubbish, get the corsair h50

the antec 300 is a great case, easily fits a h50 and even a 5870!
