If you are just looking at upgrading your cpu and nothing else then you really cant go wrong with an Intel Core 2 quad Q6600 and then clock the nuts off it.
these can be had for around £100 there abouts 2nd hand. Look for the GO SLACR revisions as they seem to clock bettar than the earlier version's
