Hi,
I currently have a computer I built myself a few years back and wondering what id need to upgrade to play Battlefield 1 smoothly.
Current rig:

GeForce GTX 970
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz
4GB Ram (I know this needs upgrading to at least 8, but my bloody massive heat sink inc dual fans block the slots for extra ram).
Heatsink - Akasa AK-CCX-4002HP Venom CPU Cooler
Win 10
MSI P67A-C45 Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard ** B3 REVISION
PSU - Corsair Gaming Series GS 800W
250GB SSD / 500GB hard drive

Many thanks,

I imagine BF1 would be half decent on that. Just NEED more ram. If you are having clearance issues cant you just get some low profile ram? Or even take the heatsinks off of it. (the ram)

Did you have a budget in mind for any possible upgrades?

I would keep the 970 as that will be just fine.

Get a different cooler £30 or less there are plenty of decent ones
8gb of DDR3 can be had for about £30-40 so i'd stick with that

seems you've got a decent system in my eyes
I can run BF1 on lesser specs other than ram so you will be fine.

Thanks for the reply :-)
I didnt even know you could get low profile ram to be honest - havent looked at computer builds for a while.
Budget isnt so much of a problem in the way of if I needed a new GPU I could spend £400 or so. To be honest though, I want to spend the least possible and retain what I can.

The heatsink could be replaced for a smaller heatsink yes, just hope I wouldnt have over heating problems

Will look at the coolers now :-)

Absolutely get more memory, if that means a new heatsink then a new heatsink as well. 2500K is still a competitive CPU when it has 8-16gb to work with :)

In my experience, RAM speed doesn't make a vast difference to a 2500k anyway - toggling mine between 1600 and 1866 results in about a 1% gain and decreased system stability, so I leave it at 1600 :)

im on a 2500k and 8gb ram, just about to buy another 8gb. it handles battlefield well, cpu is at 100% usage and ram about 7gb used during gameplay. i do play at 1440p though if you go 1080 with the 970 you should be golden!

my i5 is overclocked to 4.5, worth doing especially for this
