upgrade question

Hi all at present i have a 10900k paired with an rtx3080 . but atm im toying with getting the rtx4070ti i play my games on a 1440p 27 inch ips monitor. so i reasoned it would be i thought a reasonable update. but though i have heard the 40 series cards can often bottleneck with some cpus. i would value peoples comments on this issue. ty

I'd be more worried about it not being a big enough upgrade on a 3080, rather than the CPU.

The 4070ti is only 23% faster than your 3080 on average at 1440p , not worth the upgrade .

For me an upgrade is not a step down. if you have a 3080 get a 4080.
Each time they release a new gen the say the XXXX is faster than the same card from last get, so if your not buying the same tear your not really getting an upgrade

Are you genuinely unhappy with the performance of your rtx3080?

im not unhappy with its current performance but when i bought the pc in 2021 i thought the specc would have a reasonable lifespan. but as the cpu is now 4 gens olde and the gpu last gen . it seems as though its making pcs another consumer item. my previous rig had a gtx1080ti at its heart with a 7700k i ignored the 20 series as i thought they were slower in games. so that rig lasted from 2017 -2021 . hence my problem.

to get up to date would cost over £2000 a tidey sum. as im retired a small mountain atm.

ty all for your inputs on using a website that calculates bottlenecking it seems my present setup as i know is ok and ideal anrtx3080 and a 10900k .as i have said earliar to get a 40 series woul cost over £2300 ponds so not really viable atm so will save up . ty all
