Hey there,

Currently running a Striker Extreme with a Q6600 plonked in it.
Had virtually no problems with the board, just thinking it's about time for an upgrade. I've been looking into the P45 boards since i'm not bothered about SLI and they seem to overclock pretty agreeably.
The problem is that i'm wondering if i'll get a noticable performance increase now, or is it worthing for the Nelahem tech to come out?

Cheers.

Not very helpful but thanks for trying. Not sure what you're going on about with the social life and time consumption, it takes barely any time to replace a motherboard and get it overclocked.

Was at 3.2Ghz for a while but was running too hot for me so i throttled it back to 3Ghz. Part of the reason i'm looking for a new board, something with better temps.

Well there's a Tuniq Tower in there at the moment, although i still need to replace the naff thermal grease that came with it.

Can't remember, but just ran a stress test of the current 3.0Ghz and the temps at full load are at 55-55-49-50 across the cores.
