So I have a OMEN by HP Transcend 16 inch Gaming Laptop 16-u1000. It came with 16GB RAM, but as I'm using it for work I needed more and put in 2x 32GB modules for 64GB total. That worked fine for a couple of months, but then I started needing more RAM. I got a Crucial CT2K48G56C46S5 memory module 96 GB 2 x 48 GB DDR5 5600 MHz, but the laptop won't boot with it - the power light comes on, the fans turn on, but the screen stays blank. I tried 48GB in either of the ports - that won't work either. The CPU is Intel Core i7 14700HX - which supports 192GB, so the 48GB modules should work, but it looks like HP BIOS is blocking more than 64GB. I called HP support, but they are useless. Tried disconnecting AC adapter and batter to clear CMOS, but that didn't help. Any idea how to make it work?
EDIT: Sorted out. After doing a few CMOS resets (by holding the Power button for a few seconds with AC adapter disconnected) the laptop eventually picked up the new RAM.
