Hi there,

I currently have 32gb of 8 pack 3600mhz RAM lll, thinking it would be enough with the new build and now need to upgrade it due to games like cities hitting 100% ram usage due to the graphic settings and assets etc - The mrs still wants to add more.

Now the issue is, its quite an expensive set compared to other ram and I don't know if its possible to get an extra 16/32gb of another brand and hope it plays nice or attempt to sell this and put it towards a full 64gb set.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I do have 48gb of corsair vengeance ddr4 3000mhz in my old rig. Although I don't know how much of a step down (that I'd tell the difference) between that and this one, with my(hers haha) shiny new alderlake build.

Really didn't think a game like that would eat through that much ram:o

Try the 48gb wont loose much performance dropping to 3000mhz

Great, thanks. I didn't think I'd notice/know any difference when playing games apart from the lack of moaning that the game crashes if I kept to the 32gb.. Well until the Mrs downloads enough mods/assets to max out 48gb too...

It’ll make zero difference to your FPS in those games if you mix and match RAM modules of different sizes.

the game is limited by other factors, such as size.

just add in modules that you think will work (given the motherboard QVL list) and enjoy.
