Hi, I've been offered a used card for £70 and im considering to buy it and upgrade my graphics card. Im planing to replace my ATI HD4870 512MB with an NVIDIA 470, is it really worth it? performance and value wise??

massive upgrade and a bargain price. It will be faster than a pair of your old card in crossfire, will have more than double the RAM and supports DX11. You need a slap if you don't :D

^^I don't think it will be as fast as you think but it certainly is a no brainer. The extra ram, as mentioned, will do your gaming experience the power of good.

Buy!

Thanks guys, on the surface it looks like a no brainer but I didn't know if the 470 is riddled with issues that only owners would understand. Just wanted to check, it's a bloody good ideal I know.

Especially when I look at this exact card comparison!

Theyre very good cards, like them so much i bought two, not for £70.00 each mind you.:D Theyre a bit more power hungry than an ati equivalent, they can run hot and loud but with decent case airflow this isnt a big issue, the bonus is that they overclock extremely well, 750-770mhz ono on stock volts, 800mhz ono with a bump in voltage.

Yeah It looks like a 60% increase in power but my 620HX can handle it. The seller is a friend at work and he had three to sell, needless to say, they all went like hot cakes today. He was actually selling them for $70 not £70!

Wait $70  Even less!!!!! I know how you could make £30 ;) Buy one then PM me and I'll get it off 'ya for £100 :p haha :D

I know, I was foolish enough to almost miss that steal of a deal. Thankfully I caught him the next day in enough time.

Only down side is, I've had to get a warranty replacement on my motherboard so ill just have to stare at this raw graphics power for a month before I can even test it.
